Bird’s Nest Sweet Dessert

Bird’s Nest is a very light dessert. It is so light, one can eat a few dozen pieces before noticing. This recipe is common in Middle East countries. I tried this in different styles, the different variations you can modify as you wish. Bird’s Nest sweet dish is based on vermicelli with condensed milk.

Bird’s Nest Sweet is the light sweet as known as an Arabian sweet dish, which is based on vermicelli. It’s a very easy and quick dessert to prepare anytime for any reason. Anyone will love it, its delicious crispy dish.

A few ingredients needed to prepare which are very available; Vermicelli (Shemai), Ghee/Butter, Milk powder and nuts.

At first, Take a non-stick pan and fry the Vermicelli (Shemai) with ghee/butter. And Make sure you break it a little bit with your hand until lightly golden.

Then Sprinkle some milk powder and add condensed milk as your taste. Mix it well in low flame. keep aside and allow the mixture slightly cool. Grease your hand and take a small portion to make a bird’s nest with the help of hand. Then Make Milk Shandesh like egg shape and put them on the nest.

Ingredients

  • 200 gm fine roasted Vermicelli (Shemai)

  • 2 tbsp. ghee/ butter

  • ½ cup condensed milk

  • 1 tbsp. finely chopped nuts

  • 1 tbsp. milk powder (optional)

Directions

  • Add butter to a non-stick pan. Place the Vermicelli (Shemai) and lightly roast, making sure you break it little bit with your hand. Once one side is roasted, gently flip over and roast until lightly golden.
  • Sprinkle the milk powder and mix it well. Then add condensed milk as your taste. Mix it well in low flame. keep aside and allow the mixture slightly cool.
  • Grease your hand and take a small portion to make a bird’s nest with the help of hand. Put them  in freeze for 30 mins to set the nest well.
     
  • For Eggs:
  • Heat 1tbsp butter/ghee on the pan, add 1/2cup milk powder and condenced milk as your taste. Mix well for 5mins. as like Milk Shandesh
  • Allow the mixture slightly cool. Then make small eggs shape and put them on the prepared nest.

Notes

  • Make the nest very quickly before cool. If the mixture gets cool and hard then again heat the mixture on the pan, and again make it the nest shape.
